Really big apples found in Chertsey

bigapples.jpgHere's a question for you: What has New York got in common with Chertsey?

The answer is they are both home to the big apple! In our case its a crop of unfeasably large fruit growing on a tree in the garden of Bev Harris, 60, of Fordwater Road.

He has had the tree for about 10 years, and said that the fruit on it is getting bigger and bigger every year.

Bev has been watching the cooking apples grow for several months, and some of them have now reached about 5ins in size.

Mr Harris said: "The apples have just got bigger every single year, but now they seem to have reached an incredible and unusual size.

"All the leaves have gone from the tree and it's just left with these massive pieces of fruit hanging from it. It's a very unusual sight."

We'd like to hear from you.
