Fox gets into Chertsey home through cat flap
A FOX got into a Chertsey home in the early hours of the morning through a cat flap in the back door.
The animal walked through the kitchen before being caught by someone sleeping on mattress on the living room floor.
After panicking and running back into the kitchen, it jumped across the work surfaces, breaking a number of kitchen appliances.
It stayed in the home for about 20 minutes before the home owner was able to open the back door and force it out with a brush and tennis racket.
It comes less then a month after two children were attacked by a fox that got into a home in north London.
The home owner, who does not want to be named, said: "We had some friends staying with us so my 17-year-old son was sleeping on the lounge floor.
"He woke up at about 3.30am because he felt something cold sniffing his feet and he thought it was the cat.
"But when he looked up there was a fox stood there in front of him. He jumped up and shouted to us upstairs and the animal ran into the kitchen.
"It made a mess on the floor and then broke a porcelain champagne bucket and ran to hide in the dining room.
"We were all panicking and stressed by then. If there had been a young person in the house they could have been hurt and I couldn't believe how tame it was."
The home owner called the RSPCA the next day to report the incident. He was told he would receive a call back but has since heard nothing.

Get a life people. This is not news. Stop printing such rubbish. More people are maimed and killed by dogs each year. I've had stray cats come into my home and make a mess but did I panic and phone up the local paper. No. I've had birds fly in and poo everywhere, a squirrel whoo chewed everything up, rats and mice and a dog who follwed me home once. There were young people in the house at the time but guess what. NOTHING HAPPENED. No one got hurt and the animals were taken outside. Come on people. Grow up.
Oh for fox sake, when will you journalists realise that the Countryside Alliance now run this country and are sending out foxes on suicide missions so that they can once again be chased by wildlife terrorists and ripped to shreds. Yes I have a story for you, we regularly feed several local foxes along with a number of hedgehogs and occasionally a badger. They are beautiful, timid animals and would no more attack a child than a soft toy. They may be looking for water which has been very scarce of late and we put some out every night. We certainly don't have trouble with rats and our bin bags are only ever ripped open by seagulls or local cats (we have seen them do it) LEAVE OUR FOXES ALONE and I might once again buy a newspaper - I certainly won't while you are all peddling these outrageous stories. Perhaps everyone who has ever been sniffed by a dog or scratched by a cat might like to contact you too.
